My creative boys...

Erik came to me before church this morning and said "Mom, I think that we should do something fun today." To which I replied "What did you have in mind?" Erik went on to say that he thought that it would be fun to have a family Lego night where everyone would build their own car out of Legos and then we would race them Pinewood Derby style. So, that's just what we did. Erik was in charge of the activity and he got everyone involved creating their own Lego racer. Except for me, as I was stuck in the kitchen doing dishes and making Texas sheet cake for our Sunday dessert, but Erik didn't want me to be left out, so he made me a car that he knew I would love. After everyone had their cars assembled, it was time to race. Erik decided that my ironing board would make a great ramp (who knew that it would be good for more than just crafts?!). So after several rounds of racing, it turns out that Cameron and I won first place. Erik won 2nd place and Brett did pretty good winning 3rd place. (I have to add that Brett spent A LOT of time on his car getting it just right!) It was a fun activity and I am so proud of Erik for using his creativity to create such a fun family activity!
